That, you're somewhat right about. She is - not entirely, but inferring partially.

Anyone can do that. It's called charity. You ever done something like that? Proportion.

WRONG! She never says that. If something is a bad choice, it's a bad choice. Doing drugs is a bad choice. Murder is a bad choice. Jumping off a cliff is a good choice, in your case.

4. She doesn't want to help people through their 'non-stop parade of problems'
No, she's done it so long that she's tired. If you had to continually cut others free, wouldn't you get a bit pissed off? Anyone with a mind of their own would.

5. Removed all contact with them 'cut them out of my life'
Let's use an analogy to describe how stupid you are. If your best friend stole something you owned, would you not be angry at this friend? If he did it again, and again, and again, would you still keep in touch, knowing he's just trying to hurt you? Imbecile.

1. The ridiculous perception that being poor is due to your character is a lie spread around by propaganda, in direct competition to the equal rights that the same government claims to support.

2. I think you missed the point. If you read slightly before my quote, she says that the money she spent was 'wasted' money. So apparently, charity is wasteful according to her!

3. Some drugs are very beneficial, but I see your point. However, I believe she is referring to monetary decisions most likely due to inadequate education.

4. Actually, I'm a very forgiving person, and I don't hold grudges. Unlike you obviously, I believe people deserve new chances and can actually change. Did Mother Teresa one day think 'well, I'm sick of helping people, I'm going to take a break'?

5. Yes I would. And in fact, I have done this a fair few times, and every time I have talked it over and sorted the problem. Sometimes the best solution is to drift apart yes, but not forcibly. I don't believe in loosing contact with people just because they are poorer than me. I would help them out for the rest of my life if I had to, maybe I'm just passionate.

6. I fail to see how I'm judging her and you're not. You basically agreed with me on this statement. Also, she has incited anger and hatred in other people, namely those who are less fortunate in this capitalist society and see her blog as an attack on their situation.

One thing I do congratulate you for, is using proper English. It is becoming increasingly rare nowadays.

I'm not personally familiar with ED and the concept of hipster irony, but I do see your point. Almost everyone who comments on here hates me for my point of view, because they don't see the logic behind it. Looking back on that article, it is very poorly written, and it is not entirely clear what my objective was. I can't remember to be perfectly honest. I'm sure we shall converse at a later point indeed!
